Franchise Opportunity
Overview
Franchise
opportunities are beginning to get a great deal of attention. A
franchise opportunity may come in the form of anything from McDonalds to
Minuteman Press. If you have been looking for a franchise opportunity,
you may have investigated several of them and discovered that they may
be a "tried-and-true" business system and product, but may be quite
expensive. A franchise opportunity may require much more money
than most individuals are able to commit. A very small percentage of
franchises require an initial investment of less than $5,000, but many
more require investments in the range of $15,000 to $30,000, with many
requiring well over $100,000 to begin.
A franchise opportunity
is a packaged program offered by a company to individuals who usually
pay an initial charge plus a monthly fee based upon a percentage of
sales. In exchange, the company allows the use of the company name, the
ability to sell its products and also the benefit of national
advertising.
There's no question
that a franchise opportunity may be an excellent way to start a
business. Not only do franchises provide established products, but they
also provide all of the information and guidance needed to start and
grow your business. Many individuals have been able to make a
comfortable living and some have become very wealthy operating
franchises.
On the other hand, a
franchise opportunity does not guarantee success. Many people have lost
large sums of money in bad operations. Because of these problems,
federal regulators have enacted protection for investors. However,
problems still occur in any operation including with franchise
opportunities. You would be
wise to thoroughly investigate a company’s reputation, business systems
and claims, before becoming involved. By law, this information must be
provided by the franchising company.
