Domain web hosting solution

Domain web hosting alternatives

domain web hostingDomain web hosting will be the next step after you have given careful consideration to your web site address, and have made sure that it is easy to remember and spell.  You may start the domain web hosting process by settling on a name and then registering it to make sure no one else is using it.  You may submit your address or URL (uniform resource locator) to www.ipower.com , or one of the many Internet registration services, or you may also have your Internet service provider (ISP) do this for you. ISPs such as Earthlink and America Online and many others provide domain web hosting services for hosting web sites.

Domain web hosting with an ISP:

Domain web hosting with an ISP is always an option, but usually comes with strings attached. Many ISPs will provide some type of free space for its member’s web sites but may require advertisements to be put on pages and some prohibit selling products or services at web sites that are set up on free space.  You can find out for sure by checking out the providers "terms of service", which should be prominently displayed on the welcome screen.

Another very large concern from this author's perspective inhibiting the use of ISPs for domain web hosting, is that many ISPs do not allow you to use your own domain name, (such as www.yourcompany.com ) and you generally are not given reports tracking visitors to your web site. One recommendation this author has seen given is that you do not have to necessarily rule out the use of free space for your business, but that you should not use it exclusively, in that you should also create another web site that offers information about your products and services. This is always an option, although not a popular one in developing your domain web hosting solution.

Domain web hosting: What do you look for?

Your domain web hosting plan should be to find a web hosting service that provides site storage and management. There are literally hundreds of these services, with plans as low as $5 dollars per month for storage space alone, to $75 or more per month for storage space, free access to your web site and web page authoring software.

Domain web hosting companies may also be found by using your favorite search engine and then investigating each service before you sign up.  Inquire about the rates, years in business, the different modem rates they support, security features, and the amount of backups they perform.  If you plan to sell products you should also see if the web hosting company offers features like electronic ordering blanks to notify you of sales. Also, it is very important to see if they offer daily and monthly tracking reports as part of the domain web hosting package.

Your domain web hosting inquiry should also include getting the e-mail addresses of some current customers, to see if they have received satisfactory service from the domain web hosting company in question. You should contact anywhere from several to a dozen or so, and ask for feedback: How reliable is the server?  How fast is it?  Does tech support promptly handle problems? If these companies are not satisfied with the particular domain web hosting company, simply cross it off of your list and move on. Ipower ( www.ipower.com) is one of the web hosts currently used for this author’s websites and is highly recommended.
